Episode 102: D&C 7 – Section 10 (LIVE!)
For the first time ever, David and Bryce record live and in person! It’s so moving that even god cries! And, since it’s been a long time since you’ve gotten a “druken episode”, it felt like time to play along to the drinking game (WARNING: Probably unsafe to play along at home).
First, God takes out an insurance policy to proactively damn anyone that messes with those pesky 116 pages. Then, Jesus steps in and goes on and on with his heavenly caller ID until he messes up and makes a statement that proves beyond a doubt that everything we’re reading isn’t true!
“Drink!” Count – 51
Eight and a half beers!
And thanks to all the Mymos that contributed to the 24 Hour Broadcastaton for the Secular Student Alliance! My thanks to Dogma Debate for hosting such a great event every year. I’m honored to have been a part of it.

Concerning that sadistic recommendation someone made to add “Behold!” as a drinking game word… You’re welcome!
“Behold, this is my doctrine — whosoever repenteth and cometh unto me, the same is my church. Whosoever declareth more or less than this, the same is not of me, but is against me; therefore he is not of my church.”
I’ll take a stab at channeling the apologetic voice of the church’s defenders on why this verse does NOT discredit the church. Bryce brought up a similar warning in Revelation about not adding or taking away from these words, yada, yada. Well, say the apologists, that only applied to the Book of Revelation itself.
By the same rationale, apparently the “this” referred to here, of which we are not to declare more or less, is not the entire scriptural canon, nor the entire D&C, nor this entire section of the D&C. It is merely the phrase “whosoever repenteth and cometh unto me, the same is my church.” So as long as you don’t require more than that to call someone a church member, you’re good, change whatever else you need to.
And if it so happens that the church wants to impose any additional conditions on church membership (and they do), all they have to do is say, “If you don’t do things our way, you are by definition unrepentant, because whether by God’s own voice, or by the voice of his servants (us), IT IS THE SAME! If you disobey us, you are disobeying God. If you persist is disobeying us (God), that is not repentance, and therefore you are not a church member if we say you’re not.”

Weii ––– I can’t claim to be inspired, BUT, the integrity of the text was kept in tack.
Yes, devotees of this “religion” are seriously challenged.
Michael and Bryce were as humane as is possible, the arrogance of the writing was like dealing with a teenager writing his first Si-Fi novel.
Yea, drink was over the top, I hope you guys slept well.
Bryce you were wonderful, vulnerable and very much into the moment.
I hope you can power through the rest of the texts.

“Is the Left Killing Free Speech?”
I maintain the right has murdered the right of speech by religious incoherence.
Dig on the duplicitous motor mouth of Fox New wonder woman.
Keep the power of expression alive.
thanks, Michael/Bruce
