In this episode we learn that Jacob really sucks at his job as a priest. Also, polygamy is evil apparently, who knew? Whether or not mormon god is ok with rich people is a bit fuzzy, but that is only because we humans are just too stupid to understand the will of mormon god.

Riches aren’t bad if you plain to build a mall with them. A perfect place to get fine and costly apparel.

For those who don’t get the reference (most likely including David), in 2012 the LDS church opened up a brand new, $5 billion, high-end mall in downtown Salt Lake City.

To put that in perspective, according to Business Week, the church’s Welfare Services arm has a total budget of about $1.3 billion over the past 25 years. So that $5 billion they dropped on a mall is probably more than the LDS church has donated to charity over the past century.

Just found the podcast from your guest appearance on irreligiosophy and I love it.(yes I binged through all your earlier episodes) as a exmo what I miss is that, no one understands just how crazy and fun the book of mormon can be. I’m hooked to hear you read the rest.

The killing with the glint of the eye made me think of the song “Ballroom Blitz.”

I’ve always wondered if this chapter’s obsession with white skin = perfection rubbed off on Stephenie Meyer when she wrote Twilight, because all she does is go on and on about how awesomely white the vampires are, and how being so white makes them so, so hot.
