Episode 100: D&C 5 – Section 6

For the 100th episode, we are joined by Chuck and Matt from the ‘Irreligiosophy‘ Podcast. Since they were kind enough to have me on as a guest when the show was just starting out, it was overdue to have them on. In this ‘revelation’ we learn that Oliver is quite gifted, and that’s about it. But there’s plenty of history packed into this one, along with plenty of drinking!

“Drink” Count – 32

About 5 and a half beers

I enjoyed the “panel” atmosphere. Chuck and Matt were great. As always, I get a kick out of knowing what’s REALLY in the D&C, warts and all.

And lest we forget about the hangnails, coldsores, karbunkels and cysts; remember the heartbreak, the heartbreak of psoriasis and other cosmetic oversights to include tarring and feathering.
All are covenants for the D&C to come to pass.
Jews have an endless supply-chain of penises needing circumcising. Mormons have an endless stream of blessings to confound the mind.
Having been chosen, chosen by the same god –– yes the deity of utter indifference –– they trudge on kludging stuff together for the power of authority.

I do appriciate Bryce’s restraint, his potty mouth has been willfully self censored. Blessings to Bryce.
This was a fun podcast, thanks gang.

Great guests on this episode! I honestly couldn’t get enough of Matt’s scripture voice. I even got a chance today to check out the Irrelgiosophy podcast, and I think I have several hours of listening pleasure ahead of me.

v16 “there is none else save God that knowest thy thoughts and the intents of thy heart.”

Referring to this verse, I’ve heard more than one Mormon say that they never speak their personal prayers out loud, because they don’t want the Devil to listen in, and pick up specific details on how to tempt them better. So hey, good thing he can’t read minds. As for Santa Claus, I’m pretty sure he can’t read minds either, but, like Satan, Santa too has hordes of invisible minions that can watch your every move.

    I need thee ev’ry hour,
    Most gracious David.

Wow. This was the first time I played along the drinking game, since it just so happened that I had just bought some wine. I’m glad I didn’t have to drive anywhere, since this episode made me a bit drunk. And I think you guys actually missed one “behold”, at least nobody yelled “drink!” to it.

    Really enjoyed the episode!

One small correction for Bryce. He said that Nibley was part of FAIR in their breakdown of the CES Letter. That’s incorrect. Nibley died back in 2005.
